Phoenix Project Internship

The Phoenix Project, a respected statewide nonprofit organization serving distressed communities and educating Virginia’s next generation of nonprofit leaders seeks students with an entrepreneurial spirit for fall semester internships. We have unpaid internships for students earning academic credit and a limited number of paid internships. Our main office is located in Springfield, Virginia. Interested students may apply by sending a resume, 1 writing sample and cover letter/email to internship@phoenixproject.org. For more information on the Phoenix Project, visit our website www.phoenixproject.org

Dates of Internship: Feb. 4 - May 2. We are flexible as to the specific hours/days and will work with your schedule.

Interns will gain valuable experience, are given leadership of their projects and the ability to help define the scope and tasks involved in completion. Interns will work on a diverse portfolio of projects and have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the organization from operations to programs to fundraising. We treat our interns as colleagues.

Interns would assist the Phoenix Project with current projects, such as:

University-Community Partnerships: We build partnerships between universities and economically distressed communities. We are exploring the launch of a major partnership in northern Virginia and would use your assistance in laying the groundwork.

Program Development and Implementation: We design and offer statewide educational programs in nonprofit leadership and social entrepreneurship for top undergraduate and graduate students. We will use your assistance in all aspects of program support, including marketing, recruiting, evaluation and planning for 2008.

We also do extensive marketing, fundraising, evaluation, strategic planning and communications in support of our programs and would welcome your involvement in these activities.
