Chapter Research Information - Call for Proposals
Dear Members,
Epsilon Zeta Chapter, Sigma Theta Tau is requesting research proposals
for funding consideration. The purpose of the fund is to
encourage research by qualified nurses and/or nursing students
to advance knowledge in the area of nursing science.
Applicants applying for funding should have formal preparation
in the conduct of nursing research. If you are a nursing
student enrolled in a degree program in nursing, you must be supervised/mentored
by a nurse with a Baccalaureate degree or higher and with credible
experience in nursing research.
To receive funding, an application and a written research proposal
must be submitted to the research committee of Epsilon Zeta chapter. The
guidelines for the proposal and the application form can be found
on the web site at http://www.gmu.edu/departments/nursing/sttiez/research.html.
Preference for funding will be given to Sigma Theta Tau members. Two
members with research experience will review the proposals. Their
recommendations will be given to the research committee who will
make the final determination of funding. Reviewers’ comments
will be shared with those submitting the proposals. Grants
will be allocated on a competitive basis depending on the quality
of the written proposal and contribution to nursing. Other
factors affecting funding will be the amount of funding requested,
the research fund budget, and the number of requests. Funding
will be released to successful applicants upon formal acceptance
of the grant and completion of the Chapter Research Grant Award
Form which will accompany the notification letter.
Grants are awarded annually. The deadline for submission
of the proposal is March 28, 2008. Proposals should be sent
