NVMS AFFILIATIONS

NVMS is affiliated with a number of organizations including professional organizations, courts and educational institutions. For more information or to go to the affiliate's web site, just click on the graphic.

 

NVMS has partnered with many community organizations, courts and agencies to help people get solutions fast through mediation. Please check out our "Referral Partners" page for more information about our partners and how becoming a referral partner can help your agency and your constituents.

 
 

NVMS is a member of the Virginia Association for Community Conflict Resolution.  VACCR is a membership association composed of all of Virginia's regional community mediation centers.  It's mission is to expand the use of mediation throughout the state of Virginia and for all appropriate types of disputes.

 

NVMS is also a member of the National Association for Community Mediation.  Like VACCR, NAFCM is a membership organization for community mediation centers but with a national focus.

 

NVMS is affiliated with the United Way of the National Capital Area through participation in annual charity giving campaigns.  NVMS's designation number is 8830.

 

NVMS is a community service affiliate of George Mason University.  Although NVMS receives no direct financial support from the University, we do receive some office space and the use of many facilities which are a great help in peforming our mission to the community.

 

NVMS is also affiliated with the Combined Federal Campaign and can be designated with number 8830.

 

NVMS was originally started by faculty, students and alumni of the Institute for Conflict Analysis & Resolution at George Mason University.  ICAR is one of the leading conflict resolution educational institutions in the world and the first to offer masters and doctoral degrees in conflict resolution.
