Picnic News
The NVMS annual picnic will be held this year at Kathey Foskett's house on Saturday August 21, 2004 at 2:00pm. Please respond to the evite you received in your email or call Erika Alston at 703-993-3724 to let us know you (and how many of your family) are coming. This year we will announce the Mediator of the Year for 2003 AND 2004 since our picnic was cancelled last year.

NVMS News - Great news! Daniel Taggart has agreed to return to NVMS on a part time/consulting basis to help out with a couple of projects. Most importantly, he will be taking on the task of volunteer coordination and helping determine how much time that job would take, developing some policies and procedures and coordinating recruitment and placement.

Let Us Know - We are interested in posting on this page any resources or links to resources that you would find helpful.

Mediating With NVMS, Volunteering, Interning, Applying for a Job - At NVMS we use a single application form for everyone interested in volunteering, mediating, interning or applying for a job. Check out our jobs page for info on current NVMS employment opportunities and links to conflict resolution job pages. Check out our page for volunteers and interns for more information on what we're looking for.

Where to Get Answers To Mediation Questions - There are actually a couple of great places to tap directly into conflict resolution literature. The most important is CRINFO - the Conflict Resolution Information Source - which has loads of articles, references, links to information, etc. There's also the Dispute Resolution Bibliography which is a searchable, annotated bibliography of books and articles in the conflict resolution and mediation field. Also check out the NVMS Recommended Reading page for some good books and, for answers about Virginia law, you can Search the Virginia Code
