I. Call to Order-
Provost Stearns called the meeting to order at 1:30 pm.

The minutes of the December 19, 2007 meeting were approved as written.

Provost Stearns announced that the university was in the process of negotiating an offer for the position of Associate Provost for Graduate Education and Special Projects, and that he will report to the Council as soon as possible. He also stated that Wendy Payton had informed him that SCHEV has expressed concern about several issues regarding academic degree proposals. Wendy is working with the units to review and modify the proposals.

VI. New Business
- The term "Homeland Security" may not be used in the title of degree programs or certificates.
- The term "Homeland Security" may be used in the title of concentrations.
- The university will develop a central web site to link to programs, certificates and concentrations that might fit into this broad content area. Grad Council members will be asked to query their schools to identify the affected activity.]
