One of my first tasks upon becoming George Mason's first Vice President for Research on July 1, 2005 was to create a Research Council to support the strategic and operational needs of the research mission of George Mason University. We post the summaries of the Council meetings on the web within two or three days of each of the meetings.
We're a highly entrepreneurial campus, with faculty and students protecting intellectual property through our George Mason Intellectual Properties corporation, starting companies through the Mason Enterprise Center, working with faculty in the School of Management to learn more about starting their own companies, and taking workshops and seminars across campus, or through our Business Alliance.
