Dr. Buffardi, after working as a Human Factor's Scientist in private industry, began teaching at George Mason University in 1971.  He teaches a variety of courses in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as the undergraduate course in Tests and Measurements.  His research interests include individual differences in applied settings, work and family issues, quality of work life,and human error in complex tasks, with the latter project funded by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.  He is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Society for Industrial-Organizational Psychologists.  Some of his work has appeared in Science, American Psychologist, The Industrial-Organizational Psychologist, and Journal of Applied Psychology.
