Kimberly K. Eby is an Associate Professor of Integrative Studies and a Faculty Affiliate of both Psychology and Women's Studies.  She earned her M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Psychology from Michigan State University, and a B.A. in Psychology from Indiana University.  Her specialization is community psychology, a field whose aims are to develop theory, conduct research, and engage in social action to promote well-being and prevent the development of problems of communities, groups, and individuals.  Community psychology expands more traditional, individualistic approaches and applies an ecological perspective to social and community problems.
She came to George Mason University in 1996 as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology.  Her primary research interests include issues related to violence and gender, especially dating and domestic violence, the impact of violence on
health and well-being, and interdisciplinary teaching and collaboration.  Publications include articles in Innovative Higher Education, American Behavioral Scientist, Journal of Applied Behavioral Science, American Journal of Community Psychology, and Health Care for Women International.
