Professor Sanford has held a previous appointment of
the Environmental Systems Division, USAF School of Aerospace Medicine and
adjunct positions at San Antonio College and University of Maryland University
College. At GMU, Prof. Sanford has served as Assistant Dean for Individualized
Study Programs and Acting Chair of the Department of Psychology.
His teaching and research interests include human memory and cognitive
processes. He is also one of two faculty to receive George Mason
University's Service Learning Award in spring, 2000, and has published
with Dr. Christopher Thaiss a book entitled Writing for Psychology
through Allyn & Bacon. His papers have appeared in American
Journal of Psychology, Science, Journal of Verbal Learning and Verbal Behavior,
and Aerospace Medicine.
