The Senior Design Class of 1996-1997

InSERT was created and implemented by the Senior Design Project class of 1996 with the hearty approval of the Systems Engineering faculty. Unfortunately, nothing is perfect! The faculty decided that additional maintenance services and enhancements would make InSERT even better. They decided to put our new systems engineering skills and our imaginations to the test in a real world situation and asked the Senior Design Project class of 1997 to improve InSERT!

With suggestions from the faculty and careful evaluations of InSERT by the class and area college and high school students, the class determined what feasible improvements were in demand. Under the guidance of Dr. Kathryn B. Laskey, the class followed an extensive systems engineering approach with a lot of ingenuity to make the improvements and provide the faculty with a quality product. The new InSERT is not only a complement to the original but it also provides the faculty with the knowledge that their teaching efforts were not in vain!
