Biography
Professor Rozell is the author of nine books and editor of sixteen books on various aspects of American government, including the presidency, religion and politics, media and politics, and interest groups in elections. His latest written and co-written books are Interest Groups in American Campaigns (Congressional Quarterly Press, 2006, 2d edition), Power and Prudence: The Presidency of George H.W. Bush (Texas A&M University Press, 2004) and Executive Privilege: Presidential Power, Secrecy, and Accountability (University Press of Kansas, 2002, 2d edition). Among his latest edited volumes are The New Politics of the Old South (Rowman & Littlefield, 2009, 4th ed.), Catholics and Politics: The Dynamic Tension Between Faith and Power (Georgetown University Press, 2009), Media Power, Media Politics (Rowman & Littlefield, 2008, 2d ed.).
He has testified before Congress on several occasions on executive privilege issues and has lectured extensively in the U.S. and abroad. He serves as coeditor of the Georgetown University Press series on religion and politics. His current research projects are on presidential powers, religion and U.S. politics, and US media and politics.
