In a world of violent, social upheaval, George Mason School of Public Policy Professor Jack A. Goldstone is the man officials rely on for analyses of social movements, demographics, and revolutions as well as understanding of the reasons behind the unrest and the implications for change in the future.

Goldstone is the Virginia E. and John T. Hazel Professor and Eminent Scholar at George Mason University. He is one of the nation's foremost experts on issues such as revolution, social movements, demography, international security, and social theory. Professor Goldstone is a regular consultant to federal agencies including the departments of Justice and State, applying his award-winning research to conflicts in Afghanistan, Iraq, and the Middle East.

"My work on social change touches on many of the School of Public Policy's purview, including foreign affairs, economics, politics, and culture,'' says Goldstone, the author or editor of nearly a dozen books and nearly 100 articles.
