Professor
The George Mason School of Public Policy is more than just a repository for great teachers and learners. Through its community outreach, the School's faculty and students work actively to create new marketplaces, both in the Washington, D.C. region and throughout the world.
Professor John Petersen is a leader in the field of finance, having served in the past as a financial adviser to the state of Virginia as well as local governments in the Philippines, Romania, Indonesia, South Africa, and Poland. He brings to the classroom more than 30 years of experience working on issues such as public-private partnerships, the creation of capital markets, and analyzing sub-national credit markets.
"The School of Public Policy is deeply engaged in all facets of international commerce, from multilateral trade to the establishment of new markets in developing economies.'' Petersen says. "Our students emerge from the program with the first-hand experience necessary to assume senior-level positions at multinational corporations and the government agencies that regulate them.''
