Roger
Stough’s Macro Policy class at George Mason’s
School of Public Policy. His
winning paper examines how Fairfax County
can mitigate the impact of the 2005 BRAC recommendations through
the use of Bus Rapid Transit.
As a part-time PhD student in the School of Public Policy working
full time at Noblis, a non-profit science and technology company,
Hardy chose the topic because he was able to use in his analysis
the same sketch planning software tool, IBAT, that he helped
develop at Noblis.
“Preparing the research
paper for Dr. Stough’s class was
an excellent opportunity to leverage
my knowledge of public transportation
systems with what I learned in class
as well as applying what I learned in
class to my projects at work,” says
Hardy.
Highways are becoming more and more congested
and transportation systems more complex. Mason School
of Public Policy students like Matthew
Hardy are researching current factors and
learning methods of analysis in order to further succeed in their
careers.
We hope you join Mason’s School of Public Policy as
we continue to Contribute to a Livable World. |
