Lisa Nanni-Messegee
Lisa (B.A. in Theatre
from Western Illinois University,
an M.A. in Acting from Kansas State
University and an M. F. A. in Directing from Minnesota
State University in Mankato) relocated to Virginia from LA
where she worked as a television Segment Producer. She produced
many shows including Good Day Live (syndicated) and Smart
Solutions (HGTV). She also worked as a Voice-Over artist
on the syndicated show, Main Floor. She acted on TV (Courage
– FOX), commercials, and performed on stage (Durang
/ Durang).
As a Theatre Director, Lisa was awarded a fellowship at the Kennedy
Center for her direction of Tracers. She won an LA Weekly
Award for her work as Assistant Director for Tainted Blood.
She’s also spent the past eight summers as a Visiting Artist
in Minnesota, teaching and directing plays for youth. This summer
she’s also directing The Dining Room for Highland
Summer Theatre (Minnesota) and will direct An Ideal Husband
at GMU this Fall.
Prior to her work in LA, Lisa toured all over the U. S. and Canada
with Missoula Children's Theatre, was a resident company member
of Beechwood Theatre Company in Newport, Rhode Island. Other acting
credits include: Phaedra in Phaedra, Regan in King
Lear, Miss Mona in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.
She also teaches at Mary Washington College.
