Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT)

If you are thinking about an MBA and a career in business, you know the importance of a good score on the Graduate Management Admissions Test. Used by approximately 1,500 graduate management programs throughout the world as an indicator of general verbal, mathematical, and analytical reasoning ability, the GMAT score is viewed by admissions officers and councilors as a significant predicator of performance in graduate programs.

The majority of class time is devoted to taking practice exams, exploring the rationale behind correct answers, and understanding the underlying principles that apply to related questions. Our instructors are professional high school and college level Math and English teachers who are dedicated to helping you achieve the best score possible. Classes are approached as a tutorial. All courses begin with a diagnostic test, which will help instructor and student evaluate strengths and weaknesses. Class size is limited to 16 participants in order to ensure individual needs can be addressed.

Graduate Record Exam (GRE)

With increasing numbers of students applying to graduate school, admission is more competitive than ever. If you are thinking about a graduate degree, you know the importance of a good score on the Graduate Record Exam. Used by colleges and universities throughout the country as an indicator of general verbal, mathematical, and analytical reasoning ability, the GRE score is viewed by admissions officers and counselors as a significant predictor of performance in graduate programs.

The test itself currently consists of seven separately timed sections focusing on quantitative, verbal, and logical reasoning skills. Tested in the quantitative section are basic mathematical skills and understanding of algebra and geometry, quantitative reasoning and problem solving, and the ability to interpret graphic data. The verbal section focuses on reading comprehension, vocabulary, and analogy questions. Our instructors place emphasis on test content, discussing sound test-taking techniques and strategies. Adequate preparation is imperative to success on the GRE; the key to test taking is having confidence in oneís knowledge and ability.

Law School Admissions Test (LSAT)

If you are considering applying for entrance to law school, you probably know there are far more applicants than available seats. Admission is more competitive than ever. Therefore, adequate preparation is imperative, the key in fact, to a high score on the LSAT exam. The GMU prep class for the LSAT will give you confidence both in your knowledge and in your ability to demonstrate that knowledge.

Our LSAT preparation course offers 30 hours of instruction with an emphasis on test content. The instructors will spend a large part of classroom time reviewing examples of test questions, exploring the rationale behind the correct answers, and explaining the underlying principles that apply to related questions. Sound test-taking techniques and strategies, rather than tricks, will be discussed.

Class size is limited to 20 participants in order to ensure individual needs can be addressed. GMU students and members of the community are welcome to participate. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

At this time there are no LSAT courses scheduled for Fall 2007
