Submission Guidelines

General Guidelines

To aid OWL consultants in responding to your text, please include the following information when submitting your text via e-mail or through the Web submission form:-

your name
your e-mail address (without a correct e-mail address, w e cannot reply to your submission)
course title and number of the class the text is being written for
a description or list of writing concerns and issues you would like the OWL consultant to address
a brief description of the subject being writing about
Description of the Writing Situation

After you have included the above information with your submission, please describe, as best you can, the project you are working on, whether it is a class assignment, a personal project, or a work-related task. By providing us a description of the writing situation, you will help us better understand what you are trying to accomplish or w hat your instructor expects in the assignment. You should try to include information on the following aspects of your writing situation:-

What class is this paper for?
When is your paper due? (mm/ dd)
What is the title or topic of your paper? 
Please describe (briefly) the assignment you were given for this paper.
At what stage is this paper? 
Think also about the specific areas of your writing process where you would like feedback. For example, do you need help with:-
Brainstorming
Thesis
Intro/Conclusion
Development
Coherence
Paragraph Focu s
Sentence Structure
Writing in English as a second language
The more information you give, the more help the consultant can offer.
