How Does an Owl Consultation Work?

After you register as an OWL user and review the Submission guidelines, go ahead and submit your text to the OWL either by e-mail or through our web submission site.

The OWL consultants will respond to you within 24-48 hours of the time your submission is received. You will need to describe briefly the assignment and provide some specific information about your paper (for example, the paper topic, what stage the paper is at, what you think is strong about the paper, what you want some help with). The OWL consultant will review your paper (with consideration given to the information you have given) and provide you with feedback.

When our online chatroom is open, you will also be able to book a live online appointment and 'chat' about your paper with the tutor.
