The Writing Center seeks to foster a writing climate on campus and beyond by offering free writing support to George Mason students, faculty, staff and alumni. No matter what your writing abilities are, our writing specialists can help you develop the skills you need to become a successful writer. The links at the foot of the page will guide you through the University Writing Center 's services

Our mission is:

To serve the entire George Mason community by empowering students, faculty, staff, and alumni to become better writers, critical thinkers, and communicators.

To create face-to-face partnerships between writers and tutors, one-to-one and small group, as well as virtual-partnerships through the online writing lab.

To participate actively in English as a Second Language and Writing Across the Curriculum initiatives by providing services to non-native speakers of English and to all academic disciplines.

To provide information, resources, and links related to the writing process through topic-related workshops, the Writing Center Web Page, and freely available handouts.
