SRIF's Instrument Seminars

High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)

High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) Systems
line the bench in the SRIF Lab at the Prince William Campus.
SRIF offers free seminars on HPLC as well as other instruments.

SRIF keeps and maintains chemical and biochemical analytical instruments for students to use for independent research. Qualified students and faculty can sign up to use them on a first come basis.

SRIF is preparing a round of student seminars/tutorials for our instruments for the Fall 2007 semester. The tutorials are a way to become fmiliar with the instruments in our lab and learn their role in conducting research. We realize that instrumental analysis can be intimidating to those who are unfamiliar with their function. Therefore, the depth of the discussions will be determined by the attendees with basic topics covered for beginners or novice users and advanced analytical techiques being discussed with experienced users.

Our seminars will show how to start, run, and collect data from our instruments. We can also give advise for designing and implementing your independent research project based on our own many years of experience using the instruments. See our Guide to Student Projects for further details.
