Semester 1: Mid February– Late June
Semester 2: Mid July– Mid November
Study Abroad in Canberra, Australia's National Capital
The University of Canberra is a modern, well designed and vibrant campus. Lectures are held in modern lecture theaters fully equipped with multi-media facilities. Tutorials (small groups) are held in comfortable but highly resourced classrooms where you receive personal attention.
After a week-long orientation to the University of Canberra students have the option to participate in a trip organized by the Study Abroad Office at UC. Students will spend a weekend at a national park on the South Coast where students can enjoy the beach and learn about Australia's aboriginal culture. During the semester the Study Abroad Office plans other trips such as whale-watching, skiing and mountain climbing. The trips are a great way to meet other international students and explore Australia.
During the semester those interested in fitness can use the gym or join one of the many sports teams. UC's Sports Union organizes multiple social and competitive team events as well as special interest activities. There are also a variety of other clubs you can join, there's never a shortage of things to do at UC. You may end up wondering when you will have time to study!
Mason students must take 3 or 4 classes per term at University of Canberra to be considered full-time. Canberra courses transfer as 4 or 5 credit courses for a total of 12-16 transferred credits per semester. The transcripts for each semester are sent out mid January and late August.

Students may choose to live on campus, off-campus in shared apartments or with a host family.
The Student Residence Halls on campus are set in landscaped native gardens where you can watch kangaroos graze at dusk. Students are encouraged to live on-campus as it will allow you to meet other students, be close to campus and is easier than trying to set up independent housing. Other housing options are in the area.
Though most students living in residence halls do their own cooking, meal plans are available and there are dining options on campus.
For an in-depth description of each type of accommodations and current prices/application procedures, please visit the university residences at the University of Canberra.
