Semester 1: Late February–Mid June
La Trobe University is located in Melbourne, the capital of Victoria State. Melbourne, considered one of the most 'liveable' cities is the world, is known for its laid back attitude and plethora of festivals and events.
At La Trobe University, as with all Australian universities, there is considerable emphasis on independent learning. Students are expected to participate in class discussions, asking questions and expressing their own ideas and opinions. Students will be expected to use the library effectively and to read widely. Mason students will take classes at the Bundoora Campus of the University.
Before classes begin a "Welcome Festival" will give you time to adjust to the time difference and learn about the university. During the Festival you will meet your La Trobe "host student" who will help with university life as you settle in.
Mason students take 3 classes per term at La Trobe University to be considered full-time. A full course load at La Trobe is between 45 and 60 credits per term. La Trobe courses worth 20 credits should transfer back to Mason as 5 credit courses and La Trobe courses worth 15 credits should transfer back to Mason as 4 credit courses for a total of 12-15 transferred credits per semester.
There is a wide realm of classes to choose from in the fields of:
