NUI Galway's campus is situated on the River Corrib, close to the center of the city of Galway. It has a study body of over 15,000 students, who are divided into seven Faculties
Students are given two weeks before being required to specify their choice of courses, followed by a week where students would be allowed to drop/add. This gives students the opportunity to make an informed course choice, given the opportunity to attend class before course registration is finalized as well as advisory sessions provided by NUI Galway.
The academic year at the National University of Ireland, Galway is divided into two teaching periods, which are equivalent to fall and spring semesters. Students may apply for either the Fall Semester, Spring Semester or the year.
Courses at the university are taught in modules. The number of credits allocated to each module will vary depending on the workload. A full semester at NUI Galway is 30 ECTS, and depending on the courses being taken, students should expect to take 5-7 courses while at NUI Galway. Voluntary, non-credit Irish language classes are available to visiting students, but these classes, if taken, will not be included on the student's transcript.
-FALL AND SPRING SEMESTERS-

Students may take courses in the Faculty of Sciences as well, though additional fees may apply.
