Discover the Japanese language in its authentic setting and improve your proficiency. This intensive course is designed for students who wish to have the opportunity to study the Japanese language and culture in a full immersion environment. Students participating in this program will stay with a host family and study Japanese, for four weeks, at the elementary through intermediate level with experienced instructors from Momoyama Gakuin University. In the afternoon, students will attend lectures on contemporary Japan or participate in historic and cultural activities. Enjoy field trips to study traditional arts such as the tea ceremony, calligraphy, martial arts (Judo) and Zen meditation, and travel for a special tour to the Kansai Area. At the end of the program students will take a 3-day excursion to Tokyo, one of the most fascinating cities in the world.

Students will stay in a homestay while in Osaka. Students will stay in a hotel in double or triple occupancy rooms while in Tokyo.

The program is open to Mason and non Mason students. To obtain credit, students need at least a 2.25 GPA.
