You may study for a semester or an academic year at one of our partner universities all around the world. These programs are open to Mason students only. Direct Exchange programs will provide you with an immersion experience and an opportunity to blend into a new culture. George Mason University maintains partnership agreements called "Direct Exchanges" with select educational institutions around the world. Mason students may study for a semester or an academic year in these partner universities while they pay Mason tuition. Participating in these programs, you may earn 12 to 17 transfer credits per semester. Room and board are paid to the host university. Courses are taught in many different disciplines, either in English or the language of the country depending on the site. Please note that due to the nature of the exchange programs, only a small number of students can participate each semester. Mason can only send as many students as the foreign university sends us, so as to maintain a balance. International students from the partner universities may enroll for a semester or an academic year at Mason.
