HOW TO APPLY TO APPLY:Mason Students 1. Consult with your academic advisor if you plan to take the program for credit. Make sure that the credits offered for the program will fit into your academic program.
Please note that your application will not be considered without the $100 fee. TO APPLY: Non-Mason Students and General Public 1. Consult with your home university to make sure it will accept credits transferred from Mason. (Current students only). 2. Request a program cost breakdown from the Center for Global Education website. Take the cost breakdown to your Financial Aid Office to determine your eligibility. (This step applies to students seeking financial aid). 3. Complete the application process:
Your completed application is due October 3rd, 2008. Incomplete applications will not be considered. UPON ACCEPTANCE (All Participants) 1. Submit non-refundable deposit of $1500 to George Mason University. Make payments to the George Mason University Cash office via cash, check or credit card (visa/mastercard). Mason students may pay online via Patriotweb. Non Mason participants cannot access Patriotweb to make payments. Mail payments to GMU Cash Office, MSN 2E1, 4400 University Drive, Fairfax, VA 22030 or fax credit card authorizations to 703-993-2492. 2. Mason students applying for financial aid must request a cost breakdown and a Financial Aid Profile Form from CGE and submit to GMU Financial Aid to establish eligibility. Non Mason students must process financial aid requests through their home university. Non Mason students are required to pay the $1,000 deposit regardless of financial aid award. 3. Attend the mandatory pre-departure orientation. Participants from outside the metro-D.C. area are encouraged to attend though not required. Participants withdrawing from any program must notify their CGE program officer in writing. The $1,500 deposit is non-refundable. Participants canceling less than 30 days prior to program departure or during the program will not be refunded any portion of the program fee. However, if the Center for Global Education cancels the program for any reason, participants will be refunded the total amount paid. Participants canceling prior to CGE cancellation of program will not receive a refund of the application fee or airfare deposit.
