DESCRIPTION

Yonsei University, the oldest university in Korea, celebrated its 120th anniversary in 2005. Today “Yond-dae“ as the school is colloquially known, is widely regarded to be one of the country’s top universities. Yonsei is particularly fortunate in having a large, quiet and well-wooded campus surrounded by a city of 11 million people. The school is only 15 minutes away from the centers of government, business and culture.

CREDITS

Students may select and enroll in courses taught in English from a number of different subjects such as: Anthropology, Art, Business, Communication, Economics, History, Korean Language, Law, Literature, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Religion and Sociology. Students fluent in Korean may, with permission, select any of the several thousand regular university courses. A student enrolled at Yonsei University may transfer up to 15 credits per semester back to Mason, provided the letter grade is a "C" or above. The courses are transfer credit, and therefore will not factor into the GPA of the participant.

Housing

Yonsei University’s international student dormitory, the International House, can house up to 240 students. Korean and foreign students live together. The dormitory has refrigerators, lounge areas, recreation and weight rooms, a computer room and laundry facilities. Bed linens, quilts and pillows are provided for the students. Students are responsible for purchasing their own meals in one of the college cafeterias or in one of the many area restaurants.
