The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs monitors the academic procedures
and policies of the college, participates in curricular matters including
the development of new programs of study and new academic departments,
and provides support to the academic units for accreditation processes
and reports. He advises and supports the Dean, performing additional
duties as needed.
The specific duties of the position include:
- Creating and overseeing the expansion timeline for new academic
programs, departments, and schools in the college;
- Working with
academic unit administrators to assemble and submit course schedules;
- Maintaining
a database for contract initiation for part-time faculty, as submitted
by academic unit administrators;
- Serving as ex-officio member of
the College Undergraduate and Graduate Curriculum Committees;
- Monitoring
admission standards across the academic units;
- Ensuring compliance
with University academic policies in coordination with Assistant
Dean for Student Affairs and the academic administrators;
- Assisting
academic administrators in understanding and complying with all
personnel procedures such as reappointment, tenure, promotion,
and study leave requests and timelines;
- Overseeing the timetables
and processes for accreditation across all academic programs in
the college; and
- Serving as college representative on university
committees as appropriate.
