Fifteen accomplished alumni, one exemplary faculty member and one outstanding student were recognized April 17 at the annual Celebration of Distinction awards ceremony and dinner held at the Mason Inn Conference Center and Hotel.
Rosamond A. Warfield, the widow of the late George Mason University professor John N. Warfield, has established The John N. Warfield Endowment for the George Mason libraries to provide permanent and consistent funding for the preservation of the John N. Warfield Collection, which was gifted to the libraries in 2000.
The fourth annual GBAY Auction hosted by the Mason Ambassadors raised nearly $5,000 this year for the George Mason general scholarship fund. This fund helps students who have exhausted all other means of financial support.
The Smithsonian-Mason School of Conservation (SMSC) celebrated completion of its new academic, residential and dining facilities in October with an announcement of a $5 million gift that will name the residence hall and dining complex.
