Staff/Faculty VPN Request Form
Virtual Private Network (VPN) provides the Mason community with secure, authenticated remote access to campus networks and services. VPN provides the capability for Mason faculty and staff and selected vendors to access Mason online systems from off campus locations for the purpose of telework or conducting business with Mason. VPN users must comply with University Policy number 1313, Remote Access Policy.

Please discuss with your Supervisor before completing this form.
Fill out this form and submit it online. Once the request is submitted, a work ticket identified by an Incident number will be created by the IT support team. Then, the request will be sent to the Supervisor/Department Head you listed on the form. The Supervisor/Department Head will need to "Reply to All" and state that he/she approves of the request. Once the request is approved by your Supervisor/Department Head, the request will be sent Network Security to be processed. You will be notified when your Supervisor/Department Head has acted on the request. If the request is approved, you should receive confirmation that your VPN is available for use within five days of the confirmed approval from your Supervisor/Department Head.
If you do not receive confirmation that your VPN is available for use after five days from the confirmation that your Supervisor/Department Head approved your request, please contact the Support Center at 703-993-8870.
