Support for Mason Departments and Offices Support for Departments and Offices Faculty and Administrators who are concerned about non-native English speaking students in their departments are invited to contact the Office of Support Services to discuss developing customized programs. In addition, if a faculty member believes that a student is struggling academically because of English language problems, he or she may refer that student to the English Language Institute for assessment and free tutoring. After assessment of reading, writing, and/or speaking skills, referred students are matched with tutors who have appropriate training and experience.
