Our Mission:

George Mason University Sexual Assault Services (SAS) is committed to providing direct services for anyone impacted by sexual assault, stalking and dating/partner violence. All services are available to survivors, and to their families, significant others, and friends at no cost. We are here for any survivor of sexual violence — regardless of age, ability, color, gender, race or orientation.

SASOnline (Online Advocacy) begins October 1, 2009.

SASOnline is a new service for the George Mason University community offered through the office of Sexual Assault Services. It is a free and confidential service that provides some online support on issues of sexual assault, stalking, and dating/partner violence. Once you contact SASOnline, an advocate will respond to your message within 48 hours. Your personal information will not be used for any research purposes.  This is not an instant messaging service and should not be used in an emergency. If this is an emergency, contact 911 or the SAS 24-hour cell phone at 703-380-1434. Effective July 1, 2008 - Victims of sexual assault no longer have to report to police in order to request an evidence-gathering exam.

Reporting to law enforcement is NOT a pre-condition for evidence collection or for payment by Criminal Injuries Compensation Fund. Please click here for more details.
