Phoebe is the local home of national talent. Phoebe insists that reading can be both vigorously intellectual and entertaining, and the work it publishes succeeds on its own terms.
Phoebe publishes poetry, prose, and visual art. Its language, whether visual or verbal, whether traditional or innovative, is consistently thought-provoking and spirited. Phoebe prides itself on supporting spaces for new writing among its roster of contributors, which includes Stephen Dobyns, Yusef Komunyakaa, C. K. Williams, Rosemarie Waldrop, and Richard Bausch.
Phoebe sponsors two annual contests, the Greg Grummer Poetry Award and the Winter Fiction Contest. Contest and submission guidelines are available through the links provided.
