Senior Giving
More and more members of the Mason community are proudly engaged in philanthropic activities, and the student population is no different! Student contributions to the Annual Fund are on the rise, indicating an increased awareness of the need for private support, as well as a desire to give back to Mason.
Over the past several years, the Student Giving Program has grown from 50 donors to more than 400 last year! We are hoping to build on that success this year with the Senior Scholarship Initiative.

The Senior Scholarship Initiative (SSI) is a fundraising campaign that allows seniors an opportunity to invest in the future of George Mason University. SSI enables seniors to leave their “mark” on Mason by giving something back to the university. By contributing $20.08 by April 30, 2008, you will get your name on a plaque that will be displayed on the Fairfax Campus.
Alumni and students before you have been making donations to the Annual Fund to help George Mason University continue to be a great institution. This will be your first step in transitioning from student to alum; it’s your turn to show your support for your alma mater!
The class of 2008 will make history by being the first
senior class to participate in the SSI legacy. Did you
know that your gift, combined with others, increases donor participation, which enables Mason to achieve a higher national ranking? Yes, its true! This also
increases the value of your degree and attracts more corporate and foundation gifts for the university.
Last year, the student giving campaign raised more than $3,000 in scholarship funds to help fellow classmates. The Class of 2008 can beat that by getting just 200 seniors to participate and make a donation of $20.08 by April 30!
You can designate your gift to the area of your choice and you will be recognized as a senior donor. However, our mission is to increase scholarship opportunities for current and future Mason students. Wouldn’t you have liked to receive a scholarship while you were here? We are building this for the future generations.
