Giving Opportunities

Mason offers a variety of targeted gift opportunities in addition to seeking important unrestricted support. A sampling includes:

Campaign for Mason Students

The Campaign for Mason Students seeks to increase the number of merit- and need-based scholarships and expand student resources and services to encourage academic achievement and personal growth. Serving as volunteer co-chair of the effort, which began its quiet phase in 2004, is Jimmy Hazel, JD ’84. To date, the campaign has raised more than $11 million.

Campaign for the
Community Performing Arts Center

The Campaign for the Community Performing Arts Center is raising $15 million for a permanent endowment to support the new center's operations. The design and construction of this $44 million state-of-the-art performance complex, which will be located on George Mason's Prince William Campus, is funded by Prince William County, the City of Manassas, and the university. The center will serve arts groups in the region as well as provide the first professionally equipped venue for world-class touring artists. The complex will include a 1,166-seat main hall, a 300-seat flexible theater, a grand foyer to accommodate events, and support facilities for the performing arts. To date, the campaign has raised $8 million.

The Volgenau School 2010 Campaign

The Volgenau School of Information Technology and Engineering is currently engaged in The Volgenau School 2010 Campaign, with a goal to raise more than $20 million in private support by June 30, 2010. The most visible outcome will be a new world-class research and teaching facility that will bring all the School's programs together under one roof. The success of this initiative will solidify Mason's role as a major player in the region's IT industry and economic development. To date, more than $12 million has been raised in support of the campaign.

University Excellence

Unrestricted support to advance excellence throughout the university is a cornerstone of Mason’s fundraising efforts. Make an unrestricted gift or pledge online.
