Hylton Performing Arts Center Debuts Name, Breaks Ground
A $5 million leadership grant from the
Cecil D. and Irene V. Hylton Foundation has given a name to the new performing arts center now under construction on Mason's Prince William campus. Half of the Hylton grant is a challenge grant encouraging the community to support the Center.
Other spaces named to date include Merchant Hall, the Gregory Family Center, Didlake Grand Foyer, and Buchanan Partners Gallery. The project is a partnership of Prince William County, the City of Manassas, and George Mason University, with support from the Commonwealth of Virginia and the private sector. MORE>
Volgenau School Construction Both Entrepreneurial, Environmental
At a university that prides itself for its high level of innovation and entrepreneurship, it's only fitting that the new building for the Volgenau School of Information Technology and Engineering combine the two characteristics. Half of the $56.5 million project is funded by the state, with the remainder coming through research grants, donations, and lease payments. MORE>
Marsha Ray Joins University Development
Marsha Ray has joined Mason as associate vice president for campaign programs. She reports to Marc Broderick, vice president for university development and alumni affairs.
Ray comes to Mason from the College of Liberal Arts at Temple University, where she was the assistant dean for development and alumni relations. MORE>
