The Association of Black Faculty, Administrators & Staff (ABFAS) will hold its next monthly community lunch on Wednesday, December 2nd from 12:00 PM to 1:15 PM in the African American Studies Resource Center: The Paul Robeson Room, George W. Johnson Center, Room 240A (phone: 703 993-4085) on the Fairfax Campus. Feel free to bring your lunch and participate! About Us President Membership Committees Meetings Service

 
Events Planning Committee - develops, organizes and manages external activities and other social events.  Identifies and partners with other university organizations and departments to co-sponsor events consistent with the mission, goals, interests and objectives of ABFAS and its constituency.

Faculty & Staff Recruitment and Retention Committee - assists the university in its goal of attracting and retaining qualified Black faculty, administrators, and staff members.
Chair: Dr. Dennis W. Webster
 
Fiscal Affairs Committee - responsible for the financial security of the organization. It acts as a repository of the funds while maintaining responsibility for the disbursement.
Chair: Ms. Colandra Coleman
 
Personal & Professional Development Committee - encourages and supports faculty, administrators, and staff members in the pursuit of their professional development by serving as mentors, and apprising members of workshop and seminar opportunities.
Chair: Dr. Renay Scales
 
Student Concerns Committee - serves as a liaison between ABFAS, Black students, and Black student organizations.  It facilitates communication and provides students and organizations with the information and resources necessary for their success.  
Chair: Mr. Khaseem Davis
 
Web & Media Development Committee - responsible for the development and maintenance of ABFAS print and electronic media communication.  

Chair: Mr. Kevin R. Slaughter

 

Standing Committees - shall be those designated as having an ongoing function vital to the mission, purposes, and objectives of the Association of Black Faculty, Administrators, & Staff.  Any standing committee failing to report at two consecutive meetings of the general body shall be reviewed by the President and Executive Council.
