The mission of the Association of Black Faculty, Administrators, and Staff (ABFAS) at George Mason University is to promote the well-being of the Black community of the university; to assertively push for the recruitment of Black faculty, administrators, staff, and students; to assist in the recruitment and retention of Black undergraduate and graduate students at Mason; to encourage equitable utilization of Black faculty, administrators, and staff throughout the university community; to be a liaison between ABFAS and the university administration; and to organize and maintain a support network for Black faculty, administrators, staff, and students.
