GUNSTON HALL
Gunston Hall is the estate of George Mason, the man whose name the University bears. It is located in southern Fairfax County, approximately 18 miles from the University. The estate is owned by the Commonwealth of Virginia and administered by the National Society of Colonial Dames. In addition to the historic furnishings and Mason family mementos on display, the Gunston Hall complex includes a hall that may be used for meetings, dinners, and other affairs at the request of bona fide organizations.

Gunston Hall has been the scene of University choral performances, a major meeting of the Northern Virginia Association of Historians sponsored by the History Department, significant departmental functions for the Education and Public and International Affairs Departments, and other activities.

A special library at Gunston Hall centers on manuscripts and published material relating to George Mason, the Mason family and 18th century history. Library access is by appointment. Gunston Hall welcomes the use of its facilities by University scholars and other members of the University community.
