I. SCOPE
This policy applies to all George Mason University employees at all locations.
II. POLICY STATEMENT
Payroll checks will be available for pickup by employees, with proper
identification such as a photo ID, at the front desk in Human Resources
and Payroll, third floor, Commerce Building, Monday through Friday between
8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. For security purposes, anyone other than the check
designee who is picking up a paycheck must have a signed release. Payroll
checks will not be delivered to other University locations.
Administrative Policy 2201 mandates direct deposit for all employees
hired or rehired on or before February 1, 2002. All other employees are
strongly encouraged to sign up for direct deposit.
III. RESPONSIBILITIES
The Assistant Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer and Payroll
Director.
Will be responsible for providing employees information about direct deposit requirements and procedures.
IV. EFFECTIVE DATE AND APPROVAL
This policy is effective June 7, 2004. This policy shall be reviewed and
revised, if necessary, annually to become effective at the beginning of
the University’s fiscal year, unless otherwise noted.
