The English Language Institute (ELI) at Mason provides quality instruction in English as a second language, aimed at developing language and academic skills, as well as cultural awareness necessary for academic, personal and professional life.
- Office of International Programs and Services
The Office of International Programs and Services (OIPS) provides guidance to students and scholars studying and working at Mason in immigration, employment and taxation, assists with adjustment issues, and fosters cross-cultural understanding through programs highlighting global themes. OIPS conducts an international student orientation each semester, organizes outings, arranges biweekly workshops on topics of interest and sponsors International Week each spring.

The International Student Umbrella (ISU) consists of a variety of international student organizations that coordinate educational and social activities to promote cross-cultural understanding and international awareness necessary for academic, personal, and professional life.
- Phi Beta Delta, the International Honor Society
Mason's international honor society recognizes and encourages professional and personal achievements by Mason students and faculty in the field of international education.
- Study Abroad
Mason's Study Abroad Program provides opportunities to work and study in international locations in the winter and spring semesters and also during the summer. These programs are educational and promote good relationships between the university and its global neighbors.

- Gilman International Scholarship Program The Gilman International Scholarship Program offers grants for U.S. citizen undergraduate students of limited financial means to pursue academic studies abroad.
- Center for Global Education scholarships
During certain terms, the Center for Global Education (CGE) offers $500-$750 scholarships to Mason students participating in CGE sponsored short-term winter and summer programs as well as the Oxford Honors program and internships.
