Homecoming has been a tradition at George Mason University for many years. What started as a gathering in the fall before a soccer game has grown into a week long series of successful events designed to engage students, alumni, faculty, staff, and the community in a celebration of Patriot Pride. This year homecoming week will culminate with the 10th Annual Block Party and Tailgate, which is an event not to be missed, and is followed by the men's basketball game and fireworks.
This year's homecoming theme, "Mason Rocks" and logo design were selected through a student competition in which the winner, Art and Visual Technology major, Sara Newdorf won $200. Congratulations Sara! Mark your calendars now; it is time to rock your mason gear and come out to celebrate being a George Mason University Patriot.
Homecoming activities are a collaborative effort coordinated by the student Program Board and a university-wide committee of staff and students. In addition, the Alumni Association coordinates several events specifically for the alumni community. Web Communications in University Relations produces the web site. These individuals dedicate months to program planning and development to make the event a huge success. We hope you will plan to join us for "Mason Rocks: Homecoming 2008."
