Happy Birthday Jim Buchanan I don't remenber when and where I first met him - more than 25 years ago. It seems as if I had known him forever. As a Person: a Southern gentleman from top to toe - with a charming touch of a Southern drawl - a reliable friend - a friend who can listen a friend who loves mankind and dogs! As an Economist: He opened my mind for the underlying philosophy of Liberalism - for the meaning of history. He deepened my aversion to bureaucracy and my scepticism about politics and governments.
