- Representative Joel T. Broyhill, b. 1919.
Republican representing Virginia's 10th District in the U.S. House
of Representatives (1952-1972). The Collection contains materials
from the 83rd through the 93rd Congresses, political campaign materials,
and personal letters.
- Representative Joseph Lyman Fisher, 1914-1992.
Democrat representing Virginia's 10th District in the U.S. House
of Representatives (1974-1981). Fisher served on several committees
including the House Ways and Means Committee, Budget Committee,
and the Special Committee on Energy. Materials deal with federal
legislation, taxes, energy, the environment, international affairs,
and the Commonwealth of Virginia. Fisher also served George Mason
University with distinction; the papers from his GMU years are also
housed in Special Collections & Archives.
- Representative Stanford E. Parris, b.
1929. Republican representing the 8th District of Virginia in the
U.S. House of Representatives (1973-1975 and 1980-1990). Records
housed in SC&A span 1973-1975 and 1980-1985. Materials include
legislative research, voting records, state, local, and national
bill files and campaign papers.
- Senator William L. Scott, b. 1915. Republican
serving Virginia in the U.S. Senate (1972-1979). Papers contain
records of reports, bills, hearings, research materials, appointment
and guest books, remarks, voting records, campaign materials, correspondence,
publications, mailing lists, photographs, audio and videotapes.
