Special Collection & Archives maintains a significant
collection of materials and research guides for studying the Federal
Theatre Project (FTP) in its Theatre of the Thirties Collection, which
is part of SC&A's voluminous American Theatre Collection. Sources
of donated materials include persons formerly employed by the FTP,
various theater historians, the National Archives and Record Administration,
the Library of Congress, and GMU faculty. Types of materials include
administrative records, audiotapes, billboard sheets, music, negatives,
photographs, playbills, radioscripts, and videotape lectures. Much
of the success in obtaining FTP materials has been through the vision
and diligence exemplified by GMU's Center for Government, Society,
and the Arts, directed by Professor Lorraine Brown.

of the Institute for the Federal Theatre Project at GMU. It has

The official magazine of the FTP, published by the Works Progress
Administration (WPA).
