Dwight D. Eisenhower

In Atkins' early years with the Saturday Evening Post, Dwight Eisenhower was President of the United States. As the Washington correspondent for the Post, Atkins had many opportunities to photograph the President in both professional and social situations.  Atkins' photographs not only document the office of the Presidency but also offer a glimpse into the world of the 1950s.
