Faculty Web Pages
Two servers host faculty web pages, the Classweb and the Gunston Web. Below are resources regarding the types of university supported web servers and software that are available with information on training and department assistance.
Eligibility for space on the Classweb is dependent on the software application. In order to request space on a server, see Request an Account.

Classweb (on mason3) is dedicated to the support of instruction at George Mason University. Faculty can create course and research related websites and online discussion forums.
Classweb is an UNIX DEC Alpha server which is running the Apache HTTP web server.
WebCT (webct.gmu.edu)
Facilitates the creation of sophisticated World Wide Web-based educational environments. To request an account, send an e-mail to: webct@gmu.edu
Townhall (townhall.gmu.edu)
George Mason University's Web Crossing application. Web Crossing is a software product that allows users to create and participate in online discussion forums. For information on Townhall, visit the webpage. To request an account, send an e-mail to: townhall-admin@gmu.edu.

- Instructional Resource Center (IRC), a division of DoIT, serves as a resource for faculty and staff seeking to imporove instruction and provides hands on training and support in the use of technology for improving student learning.
- Information Technology Unit (ITU) provides information on policies and web related topics.
- IRC provides information on how to create content for WebCT where interactive content supports your instruction and Townhall forums for online discussions.
- The Faculty Web provides technical information related to WebCT, Townhall, or Classweb (web sites reserved for classes taught at George Mason)
- Mason Design Tips, a guide for designing web sites, contains helpful tools for building a web site.
- Electronic Publications provides a Web Identity Guide that provides a web style guide, university logos, and templates
- The Mason Media Lab is available to provide web site assistance with web designs that utilize Macromedia's Flash application, streaming media, and QuickTime VR.
- Viewfinder, is a database of university photographs which can be accessed, browsed, or searched for campus images that can be used on a web site.
