Personal Sites at Mason
Personal web sites for students, faculty, and staff are setup on the Mason Cluster. Faculty and staff members can also set up sites on the Faculty Web and the Gunston server, which has some additional capabilities.
General Information
You have a limited amount of space assigned to your Mason Cluster account; about 3.5 mb if you have very little saved mail. HTML code is basically a text file and does not take up much space, but pictures (files with extensions .gif and .jpg) DO take up a lot of space.
For instructions on where and how to create a directory for your web page on the Mason Cluster (mason.gmu.edu or osf1.gmu.edu), please go to Creating the Directories to Put Webpages on the Masoncluster system.
Instructions on transferring files to your home directory on the Mason Cluster, can be found on the ITU Support webpages and the Student and Faculty technology guides under "How to get/install/use the Secure Shell (including Secure FTP)".
