Student Web Sites
If you need assistance in creating a web page to fulfill course requirements or to post a resume for prospective employers, you can:
- Participate in training offered through DoIT. Check out current schedules and other available training opportunities.
- Request assistance at the Student Technology Assistance and Resources Center (STAR), a division of DoIT. STAR is composed of 3 groups, which focus on student support and assistance. STAR*T provides hands-on technology training for students (Johnson Center, Room 344). Web.STAR helps students design and create web sites (Johnson Center, Room 311). STAR*S offers fee-based services (video and audio dubbing, editing services, scanning and color printing) to students (Johnson Center, Room 229).
- Students who want to create a web site, can refer to the Mason Cluster Page for information in regard to servers available to students. Also see Creating the directories to put web pages on the mason cluster system.
- Officially recognized Student Organizations that require space for an Official Mason Web site for their organization must to to the official information page for information. If you represent a George Mason organization or affiliate, see the following web page.
Information Technology Unit (ITU) has technical information on accounts and policies.
Web servers that are available to students are named the Mason Cluster (osf1.gmu.edu or mason2.gmu.edu) These are 2 Unix DEC Alpha servers. Go to this site for more detailed information on software support, account eligibility, storage space allocations.
