Changing Places

Denise Albanese, English, is spending this semester as a visiting professor at Johns Hopkins University.

Herbert Berg, Graduate School of Education, has become executive director of the Association for the Advancement of International Education.

Chayla Haynes has been named assistant director of Orientation.

Menas Kafatos has been named dean of the School of Computational Sciences. He will begin his appointment in July, when present dean Murray Black will step down and take a six-month leave of absence.

Scott Keeter is stepping down as chair of Public and International Affairs.

Gail Kettlewell, former Manassas Campus provost at Northern Virginia Community College, has been named director of the Doctor of Arts in Community College in Education program.

Yehuda Lukacs, associate provost for global education, is now a faculty member in the Public and International Affairs.

Robert Smith, Psychology, has become interim director of the Ph.D. in Biosciences program.

Susan Stockwell, formerly head of Library Administrative Services, is now director of Information Technology Unit Administrative Services.

David Wiggins will replace Brett Wright as chair of Health, Fitness, and Recreational Resources; Wright is leaving George Mason.

John Zenelis, university librarian, has taken on the role of associate vice president for Information Technology.
